Galaxy Drivers Door/ Central Locking

Hi,

The central locking on my 1996 ford galaxy has packed in. The drivers side door will not open at all. The central locking opens all the other doors, except the drivers side. Is there a way I can get the door panel off with the door shut to have a look? or any suggestions on how to fix / unlock the door? The electric window this side doesnt operate either! Any suggestions??? Or wiring diagrams??

iirc this has happened to someone n here quite recently,think you better do a search.think it invovled having to remove the door card.once you have managed that then you need to check out the wires in the door pillar sounds like theres a few that have snapped.

A similar problem happend to me... it turned out the wires had somehow got caught as the window went down and pulled 2 of them out of the connector. leaving the door inoperable... i gave the car to a mechanic who managed to get the door card of re-connect the wires and subsequently get the door open... im afraid im not sure how he manged to get the door card of with the door shut, but i hope this little snippet of info helps you somehow!
